ABOUT BUKI
Born in Barcelona to Catalan and Nigerian heritage, Buki grew up between Barcelona and New York before making London her home. Her connection to different cultures, music and nightlife continues to shape the energy and individuality of her work.
Beginning her career in styling, her passion for dressing people naturally led her to costume design — using clothes to explore identity, build character and tell stories.
Her screen work includes Femme, starring George MacKay and Nathan Stewart-Jarrett, for which she won the BIFA for Best Costume Design; Amazon’s Malice, starring David Duchovny and Jack Whitehall; BBC’s Wild Cherry; Extraordinary and Boxing Day.
Across film and advertising, Buki has collaborated with directors including Jonathan Glazer, Shannon Murphy, Matthew Vaughn, Rollo Jackson, Ringan Ledwidge, Adam Berg, Johnny Green and Kibwe Tavares.
From contemporary fashion to period costume, her work is driven by character, culture and instinct, with a distinctive eye for silhouette, texture and detail.
